"Get into Politics or get out of Business." This slogan, heard throughout the power corridors of Washington, DC never rings more true than today, especially in the construction industry whose daily existence is jeopardized by all manner of vociferous special interest groups. These groups push legislation and regulation that seeks to limit or complicate the construction business. AGC has earned the respect of Congress and state legislatures throughout the country as the construction industry's leading authority on, and watchdog for, contractors' interest.
AGC of Wisconsin staff is continually building relationships with state lawmakers and government officials in Madison. AGC staff monitors all legislation that comes before the state legislature and explains to elected and appointed officials the impact that these proposals have on construction. This ensures that the interests of the contractor in Wisconsin are represented. AGC also introduces and co-sponsors pro-business/construction legislation, lobbies for funding for public works, and raises political funds to support pro-business political candidates.
